Wedding Rings For Men

By George C.Baycan

Although some wedding rings are sold as matching sets, the vast majority of grooms will wear a ring that compliments but does not completely match the wedding band for the bride. There are many different styles of wedding rings for men that are stylish yet definitely masculine as well as a perfect match for the bridal set.

While many men's wedding bands are very minimalistic when it comes to design, there is no reason that they have to be plain. Unique profiles and shapes of the band as well as patterns or scrolling work or even accent metals all adds a touch of beauty.

Tungsten rings for men are very popular because the metal itself is virtually indestructible and simply will not scratch, tarnish or become damaged under almost any type of condition. These wedding rings are typically a silver color, however they are so reflective and flawless they almost appear to have a mirrored finish.

Black tungsten wedding rings are very unusual but also incredibly appealing to many couples. The metal is put through an ionization process that results in an actual change in the metal of the ring, resulting in the deep, rich black coloration.

Inlayed wedding rings using tungsten, more properly known as tungsten carbide, combine both tungsten and yellow gold for a very unique looking wedding band. These tungsten rings for men can have a sterling silver inlay, which is actually a slightly different color than the tungsten, resulting in a very subtle yet noticeable design.

Men's wedding rings can also feature several patterns and designs that can compliment the women's bridal set. Greek key patterns as well as many of the Celtic eternity designs are also very popular in all styles of men's wedding bands.

Even without a pattern you can still add a unique look to men's or women's wedding rings through the type of finish on the metal of the band. Most rings, including those made of tungsten, will come in the traditional polished look but also in a satin or brushed finished for a more subtle finish.

Combining several finishes on wedding rings makes a pattern that is enduring and designed to stand op to any type of wear. Tungsten rings are particularly known for their enduring qualities and will not wear away like the softer gold rings will over time and with constant rubbing and movement.

Getting just the right wedding rings is definitely something to think about and not jump into buying the first rings you see. Remember the wedding rings don't have to match, but the bands typically are going to have enough pattern and style similarities to compliment each other.
